Cranes Mill at West Caldwell - Corridor Renovations

Cranes Mill’s aging Independent Living buildings no longer reflected the vitality of its residents. The corridors and adjacent amenity spaces were outdated, poorly lit, and under-utilized. Following successful renovations of the Commons and Wellness areas, KDA was tasked with updating these spaces using the same luxury design approach.

Imagining together, the design team and Owner developed a thoughtful list of programmed activities that the revitalized amenity spaces would need to accommodate: a social lounge with fireplace, a game room with wet bar, a meeting room, a natural light-filled art room, and a quilting room with ample storage.

Additionally, wayfinding was improved through striking life-size murals positioned along key points of the corridors, which also provided wall protection. These enhancements transformed the once-dull spaces into vibrant hubs for socializing and hobbies, reflecting the youthful energy of the residents and the community.
