The Osborn - Sterling Lounge and Auditorium Renovation

The Sterling Auditorium and Lounge, once symbols of timeless elegance, had gradually deteriorated over the years from regular use. Our design team was tasked with revitalizing these cherished areas, aiming to restore them to their former glory.

The project addressed several significant challenges within the auditorium, primarily replacing the movable wall system which was difficult to operate and caused ongoing damage to the auditorium's wood flooring. We introduced a lightweight sliding door system with custom mural that could function effectively without compromising the building's structural integrity.

Drawing inspiration from the original design, we meticulously restored wood paneling, replaced worn flooring, and applied new finishes that honored the space's historical integrity.  Clerestory windows along the auditorium’s upper walls were restored and manual shades were replaced with a motorized system, further improving functionality and aesthetics.

Addressing residents’ feedback, a hearing loop audio system was installed beneath new flooring, allowing enhanced audio clarity during events. Additionally, we guided AV consultants on upgrades of the auditorium’s stage lighting, projection system, and audio equipment for intuitive operation and seamless AV system integration.
