Fellowship Village at Basking Ridge - Wilson’s Tapas Bar and Lounge

Basking Ridge, NJ

Fellowship Senior Living selected KDA Architects to design Wilson’s Tapas Bar Lounge — an alteration of a living room, library and private dining room of the Fellowship Village Commons. Wilson’s location at the intersection of the “main street” corridor provides a meeting and gathering place for entertaining, before-and-after theater socializing, games and family visits. The lounge is visually framed through the Gallery, which provides a wayfinding cue and terminal vista through its welcoming doors.

The key design concept creates a series of visual interest planes, and spaces beyond. The project team utilized materials, colors, textures, lights, and volume to provide an accent amenity to the newly renovated Commons, and an experience one might find in an urban restaurant.

A new porch addition and terrace creates a multi-season outdoor space with an elevated open view of an extensive natural area. This second gathering option is a fresh air, semi-enclosed experience with wood rafters, beaded ceiling, and brick piers.
